Qatar’s Qsuite is one of the most sought out Business class products in the points and miles community. Qsuite is Qatar’s flagship business class and is often compared to many airlines first class product. Upon joining the points & miles game, I was dead set on redeeming points to fly Qsuites; so much so that it was my first points redemption ever!

In this post:

Booking- Qatar Qsuites

One of the more popular ways to book Qsuites is using the American AAdvantage program. You can book as seat from the U.S. to Doha for 70,000 AAdvantage Miles and $7.65 in taxes & fees. For only 5,000 miles more, you could continue all the way to South Africa which represents a great value for you miles as this is around 24hrs in one of the best business classes on the market. Qatar Airways has recently joined the Oneworld Alliance; This means you could compare options and possibly book through other Oneworld members like British Airways Avios, Alaska Mileage Plan, and Cathay Pacific Asia Miles.

Ground Experience

There are multiple lounge options to choose from in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at LAX. I had a limited amount of time since I was dealing with some last minute paperwork due to the pandemic. I found a seat in the fairly small & slightly crowded Centurion Lounge while I awaited the results of my rapid antigen test. As most travelers know, the pandemic caused so much confusion with ever changing requirements. I supposedly needed the Rapid antigen/PCR test to enter Qatar; I had to scramble and pay $200 for this test onsite outside of terminal 6 once I arrived at LAX. Once I landed in Qatar the test was never questioned or verified which was some unneeded stress before my flight. Nevertheless, I was too eager to finally try the famous Qsuite, so I headed to the gate to be among the first passengers on the plane.

Cabin & Seat

Qatar’s Qsuite is arranged slightly differently than most business class products. You would typically find a 1-2-1 configuration in the more competitive business class products vs a 2-2 in the far less competetive products. The Qsuite configuration has one row of alternating rear and forward facing seats, the “Quad” section in the middle, followed by another row of alternating rear and forward facing seats. The Quad configuration is popular for couples who want to sit right next to each other, as well as for groups of friends or family who want to sit together. If you’re traveling solo, you’ll most likely prefer a seat in one of the aisles. The aisle seats alternate between being a true window seat and being closer to the aisle. I chose seat 3A, a rear facing true window seat. I feel that the true window seats offer slightly more privacy than the even numbered, forward facing seats where you are closer to the aisle.

There are two possible amenity kits you may see depending on if you are in Qsuites or their Business Class Studio cabins. Both Amenity kits feature the same Diptyque products. in Qsuites you will typically find them in a stylish cardboard box, whereas the other business class it will be in a leather pouch. The amenity kit consists of an Eau de Toilette spray, hand lotion, lip balm, face cream, and an eye mask.

Qatar Offers a Dine on demand service, where you can choose to eat your meal at anytime. I opted to start the meal service about an hour after takeoff. For my first course, I chose the seared prawns. They were accompanied with warm bread and plated nicely with Qatar’s signature “candle”. Next, I went for the slow roasted beef cheeks which were cooked perfectly. I Finished with the Dulce de Leche tart for desert.

Another area where Qsuites differentiates itself is that it offers Pajamas and turn down service in business class; these amenities are normally reserved for first class on most airlines. I asked the FA to make my bed while i went to the forward bathroom to change. Once I returned from the bathroom, my bed was made and I settled in and watched some movies i downloaded on my phone.

Qatar Qsuites offers an excellent business class product. From the Cabin design and finishing, to the onboard service and dining, Qatar Airways shines in it’s flagship product. There is not debating why Qsuites has won the many awards it has. I will certainly be on the lookout to try this product again in the future.
